tonight is the night
i have been wating for so long
so many years i have sought
the melody for my song
over mountains i have climbed
to my god i would confide
please father please
help me to find love on the other side
many never feel
what i now contemplate
soul to soul we reside
the defintion of soul mates
and though fate
can be unkind
on us it chose to smile
the heavenly chior sings
walking into the church single file
lifting their voices to the sky
for a love that is meant to be
tonight
on bended knee
i ask you to please marry me
every tear you have shed
has been joined by one of my own
your love raised me from the dead
in your heart i have found a home
forever and beyond
we will be husband and wife
through sickness and in strife
in this world
and the afterlife
a slice
of heaven poured on my soul
when your rains came
a prince in wating i used to be
now a king with his queen
devoid of pain
my lover
my best friend
your honor i will defend
together we will rise
as one we will ascend
so rare is a love like yours
in heaven it was stored
wider than any ocean
deeper than any sea
and that is why
on bended me
i ask my love
will you please marry me
and that is why on bended knee
i ask
please
marry
me
