    THE STORM (MELLOW COOL)

    rumblings underground

    i cant hear a sound

but the beating of your restless heart

    now that we are together

    im prepared for whatever

    mother nature has in store

    the nature of our love

is stronger than plates slipping near

    some isolated shore

    so if its an earthquake

    for goodness sake

how can it stop the love we make

if the bed moves a few feet

well thats where we will meet

we can survive the best of mother nature

    in any form

    because once upon a time

before your heart was with mine

i learned to  weather the storm

    a tropical retreat

warm pacific waters laping at our feet

    everyone preparing to evacuate

we will join them in a minute

but  as long as we are in it

we might as well conitune  to make love

    im not a trend setter

    but im prepared for whatever

    mother nature has in mind

even if the winds of change

    alter the meaning of time

    so if its a typhoon

    well didnt my heart swoon

the first time we made love

if we are swept into the ocean

    im pretty sure our devotion

will allow us to make landfall

on an isolated beach right soon

after all we can survive mother nature

    in any form

because before your heart was with mine

you learned to weather the storm

high winds or the ocean in a lather

    the former or the latter

    i dont really matter

if we  can make love all day

a buildings sway or a  catagory 3 on the way

we will be in love come what may

    eating  fresh sushi

thinking of the way you have improved me

    warning sirens blaring overhead

    one more chance for passion

we might as well not ration

come on baby  lets go back to bed

can i tell you a secret

i bless the day you were born

in your loving arms pretty baby

    i can weather any storm

as long as im with my mami

    go on mr. tsunami

    give me your best shot

i will body surf on your crest

    and at gods behest

    find my baby  eventually

because what god has brought together

no man or bad weather can break apart

you see thats the way it must be

    skipping through puddles

    anxious people huddled

at the market buying  things they dont need

so lets make for some high ground

and make love with no one around

while waiting for the waters to recede

after all god never promised this life

to always be in the norm

consequently as long as you are with me

    we can weather the storm

    how can we abstain

    so lets forget the hurricane

ive been told the eye is a peaceful place

so lets fly right through it

    and continue to do it

    at a leasurely pace

there is always a day after

after sorrow must eventually be laughter

life can be up and down

but i know because an angel told me

i will be blessed as long as you are around

so  lets make this love last forever

    through trials and trevails

    and the times we mourn

    long as your my baby

    and i dont mean maybe

im sure i can weather the strom
