Once I looked over
I saw an angel
on her shoulder
thought I just want 2 hold her
angel of love make me bolder
She walked in a meadow
of high grass
the skies
full of contrails and contrast
only true devotion can outlast
loves demise flying a flag
at half mast
2 the angel my fate was cast
be absolved or remain aghast
leave all pain in the past
in a burial ground so vast
this lovely vision of soul and sass
I know that i am up 4 the task
4 i am looking
through the looking glass
once I looked beyond
I saw her meditating near
a mountain pond
in the month of ramadan
no need 4 stars 2 whish upon
let bygones be bygones
or surely the demon will abscond
never would I respond
like a debauched king with a harem
waving palm fronds
the angel told I have formed a bond
with a lady of culture and class
the minute that I chose
2 look through the looking glass
once I looked within
I knew love could begin
again
though he died 4 my original sin
my virtue I must defend
never will I pretend
2 be a mythological griffin
a man with a lions body
and wings of an eagle
true african kings
are forever regal
so few people
will walk through the needle
many will return
2 live the sequel
but i know as I prepare 2 fast
my time in hell is at an end at last
4 I saw her waving to me
when I looked through the looking glass
