People will always say
what you can and cannot achieve
but only you
can find the reasons 2 believe
no man alive can accurately say
whether Jesus Christ died
young or gray
4 in the end
we must trust in the faith
of our
soul affirmations
baby girl
the only entity not prejudice
in this world is the dawning sun
upon the racist and the righteous
it shines on everyone
illuminating the blessed cross
or the barrell of a gun
as I write these words
I pause frequently when
they begin 2 cry
if loving you is not a blessing
your daddy is prepared 2 die
4 you are the truth
in my
soul affirmations
remember the false rumors
as the tide ebbed and swayed
the day
your mother and I broke away
the whispers of how your life
would never be the same
what they didnt know
is your mother and I were
blessed from the start
and though we had 2 part
you remained our
heart
and
soul affirmation
I know
life is not always as it seems
but our earthly existence began
when the creator had a dream
and even he was forced 2 rest
on the seventh day
come what may
always know the road 2 achievement
is often paved with discontent
find a special place in your heart
2 repent
trust your daddy
you will be sent confirmation
of your
soul affirmations
if I
die
upon this very day
these words I pen will last forevermore
you
I truly adore
so always be proud
of your legacy
4 together your mother and I
shaped who you are
but you control whom you will be
you represent the sweetest fruit
from the tree
of african american
carribean royalty
and 4 this wretched life
and yes
eternity
you have always been
and shall forever be
my
soul affirmation
