Love1

we have nothing left to fight for

nothing left to gain

on a shoal so barren and isolated

only tears in heaven drain

i  genuflect in your presence

forever you will be my ethiopian queen

exalted by the constellations

while traversing the summer solstice

in a palanquin

an isolated and intense emotion

never will i deny

amazing how the rains fall

upon the plains of the srengeti

each and everytime you cry

i see you in graceful motion

that beatific smile as you pirouette

the days bathed in sunshine  we remember

the hurricane of conflicting  emotions

we refuse to soon forget

and when kintu lived alone upon this earth quite lonely

nambi the daughter of gulu came to the earth

and fell in love with him

and though gulu the ruler of sky

thought kintu too poor and ignorant

the bond of kintu and nambi

eased the heavenly fathers trepidation

and now the saharan winds

sing a hymn

of everlasting love

are  there any valid reasons

the sane dive into a malestrom of love

and its unpredictability

ironic how we know more of the stars

in the heavens

than the ever changing tides of love

upon this earths restless and stormy seas

rest your head my lovely

this too shall come to pass

ignore our loves burning embers

concentrate instead upon the timeless devotion

we sought  while racing against the desert sands

in the hourglass

exalted you will remain

the court waits in breathless anticipation

while you summon the vestal virgins

to consumate the intensity of your

feelings of frustration

and when alcmene

the mother of hercules

mated with zeus who was wearing a perfect disguise

thinking she had finally found

the perfect mate

they made love to a celestial serenade of perfect harmony

yet unknowingly she became victim of a hegemony

a cultural  imperialism

from which her soul would never escape

the salt of our tears form twin pillars

that pantomime

you the solo dancer

i the narrative chorus

beseeching the devine

our movements  once so expressive

now our steps defined by a certain nervousness

in the shadows of the theater

i see you and i as we pantomime  one last kiss

the rain falls upon all that our love justified

soothing two souls scorched by fates denial

i stand  before the angels

feeling very much like socrates

preparing to face my final trial

no intimate  intrusions

we kept our love secret until the end

no need to turn back and face

sodom and gomorrah

we end as spiritual lovers

yet forever remain everlasting friends

and when aphrodite

the goddess of beauty

love and pleasure

sought the erotic pleasures

of adonis she refused to release him

from her intimacy

in love she was totally

and though ares

in a jealous rage disguised as a boar

killed adonis

the ashes of a love so  innocent and completely honest

have been scattered upon the confluence

of the tigris and euphrates

while the jealousy of ares burns in hades

the bottomless pits of hell

when i speak to you

i sense a sorrow

but our love should not be mourned

from the dust of an edenic paradise

our expectation of love was formed

so smile for all of the great times

the laughter and the freedom

never did we not submit what was owed to ceasar

never like judas did we commit a love treason

the morning skies awaken

parting to release the warmth

you and i will forever share

so strong we were as solo  artists

quite indomitable as a pair

as i meditate i kiss the heavens

for all you have meant to me

for sharing a love far beyond all earthly boundaries

a love to be forever spoken in mythology

and when  ohsun

the orisha of love

beauty and  intimacy

feels the slightest  animosity

though kind she will cause  destruction

wherever she decides to go

only shango the king dancer

undergod  of lightning and thunder

can quell ohsuns anger

and allow her soul to escape into the throes

of an everlasting love

you and i

a confluence of a shared astrological

yes we did the impossible

so many thought our love illogical

now forevermore we will be honored

in the mythological

as two people who once defined

 the meaning of true love

When

open my heart

i see your face

then your smile is lost

without a trace

miles apart

nights bittersweet

still i try to sweeten our dream to taste

confined by time

lost in space

our circle complete

yet somehow erased

our motives undefined

running in place

how can we hope to win the race

orbiting the moon

true  love we chase

only

i loose communication with your world

when i land at tranquility base

did we learn too much

too soon

at times our discord out of tune

yet still i sing amazing grace

once lost but now i have found

life without you is a worthless place

still i hear reverberate the shattering

of two  hearts like a priceless vase

no one cares

ignoring the sound

summer  nights once wrapped in lace

now isloated during winter

without your embrace

my emotions abound

running from gomorra

then foolishly  i turn right back around

praying to the father

what am i to do

these thoughts i ponder

when i think of you

can we survive

another day

if our love song is now

the sweetest taboo

i walk around

quite subdued

how can my heart revive

if i find the right church

yet always sit in the wrong pew

a dove once plucked

an olive branch

loves purity like his feathers

pure white in hue

a second chance

to love again

yet storm clouds obscure this destination

as he flies helplessly above the mew

our  love once the color of tangerine

you were my ray of sunlight

dancing  on morning dew

now i see  a fiend

in plain view

bragging about the dove of peace

he recently slew

driving through the town

trying to locate  our love lost

yet inexplicably i turn back around

walking down my street

i see a piece of cotton candy gum discarded

a child refused to chew

did she not like the taste

should we continue

these thoughts i ponder

when i think of you

hey my lady..check it out

when i am done with this joint i want you 2 walk away

run away

whatever..just far enough away

so you can determine if

i am full of shyt

lemme drop the real...

my approval rating was going

through the roof

but the severity of your tears

was absolute proof

bullshyt is

what a fake brotha does

i almost went from a coulda been

shoulda  been

2 a never was

everybody gatherin around

down

with my syncopatic

flow

but in private my autocratic

ways would show

was never democratic

in my false accusations

what you thought was drama ending

was in fact a continuation

of my instigations

so busy accepting congratulations

and salutations

i didnt realize my life had become

an abomination

i had 2 take a

look within

accept my guilty admission

make the invisible

visible

and produce evidence

admissible

in the court of your private opinion

check it out..

i was  tired of living

in the shadows of my betrayal

brother dee

is so righteously

real all my fans would hail

but

our reality paled

in comparisson

2 the garrison

i erected

around  my foolish heart

thought i was protected

but i was vunerable from the start

when adulation produced vanity

cant even plead insanity

because the glove sho nuff fit

straight real

i was  full of shyt

you see

i could rub 12 poo nah nees

kiss 16 sets of breasts

and feel one perfect ebony azz

but after the lust is gone

how could i move on

without a love that can last

i dont need to be caught up

in what the fucks

wake up

not knowing names

just another  notch

on my membrane

ignoring  the smoke

until i was trapped in the flames

created by

my bullshyt lies

baby

open your eyes

and realize

there is a big azz world out there

waiting for you

until i represent the copacetic

black esthetic

do what you must do

and if you find a brother

who can provide

i will wish you love

and step to the side

think about the love i lost

and weigh the cost

but i wont hide

i will just take

a look within

accept  my guilty admission

make the invisible

visible

and  produce evidence

that is admissible

in the court of your private opinion

you see

true love is the creators dominion

so  while  i was dominating

verbs and nouns

i was forsaking

the greatest love i had ever found

real men

cry real tears

and dont defend

the tears of a clown

actin in stereotypical fashion

then harrasing

the system for  being unfair

how could i rise 2 my destiny

if i was 2 lazy

to climb the stairs

but

you best believe i wont stay

this incomplete

one day soon i will be a brotha

a quality woman seeks

but right now i have alot of work 2 do

2 break on through

2 the  positive side

i know  it wasnt all bad

we had one hell of a ride

but when  the carnival leaves town

there is a mound

of trash left behind

i wasnt looking 4 your love

i was searching 4  signs

she cant be this honest

this  genuine

this real

so i went 2 the jury

in a state of fury

presenting my appeal

my rebuttal

was in trouble from the start

a jury cant

stand  a man

who breaks a womans  heart

so i guess i was fated

2 be incarcerated

by circumstantial evidence

standing up there tryin 2 vent

but my bullshyt

wasnt relavent

to the case at hand

i was a fukced up man

so i had 2 take

a look within

accept my guilty admission

make the invisible

visible

and produce evidence

admissible

in the court of your private opinion

that is all i have 2 say baby

you are a damn good lady

i wish you the best

you deserve it for real...

no i want you back

no appeal

love you always ...peace

Butterfly

I feel like a butterfly

fluttering around  your blooming flower

counting down the hours

until we make love again

I feel like a bumblebee

stopping midflight to see

if my cache of sticky honey

is sweeter than the day before

I feel like a butterfly

floating in the sky

gliding on the cross currents of your love

as you go breezin by

I feel like a bumblebee

working towards our shared destiny

the more I keep moving girl

the faster I can ask you 2 marry me

you make me feel like

a  butterfly

a bumblebee

a tiny kitten stuck in a tree

who doesnt want 2 come down

from his high

and your love is the reason why

I feel like a butterfly

bursting through my mental cocoon

making your heart swoon

when love season is in bloom

I feel like a bumblebee

flying over the vastness of the sea

though I get tired

I cant expire

until you are the last beautiful face i see

I feel like a butterfly

on the cusp of spring

making a request to the hummingbird

for your love please do sing

I feel like a bumblebee

your love is my finality

no need 4 me play with the birds

when I can make love 2 you

4 eternity

you make me feel like

a butterfly

a bumblebee

a tiny kitten stuck in a tree

who doesnt want 2 come down

from his high

and baby

you are the reason why

Sat, 26 Feb 2011 09:04:00 -0800 LOVELY LADY http://dgreaves.posterous.com/lovely-lady http://dgreaves.posterous.com/lovely-lady

Kiss

Lady pull back and take it slow

The night belongs 2 U and I Let's go with the flow

What do you say?

Lady I know you've tossed around

Stormy relationships don't make a sound

Unconditionally lovin the wrong type of men

The way they treated U was a sin

But I don't play

Lady come rest your tired mind

Within my embrace you will find

Comfort from life's hectic pace

I'll lick your lips and enjoy the taste

Is that okay?

Lady I admire your poise and sexy profile

Hope U don't mind me chillin 4 a while

In the wetness of your April shower

Your creamy filling I will devour

Today

Lady I will pour a glass of wine

Relax your body, massage your mind

Make sure there are enough bubbles in your bath

Extacy and D'ee it's simple math

Let me make you come right away

Lady don't fret over your stressful day

I will force your body 2 dip and sway

Shake uncontrollably

In orgasmic totality

Kiss your sweating brow when you lay next 2 me

Your commands I will obey

Lady I know you vibe on consistency

I'm trying hard 2 be the man you need me 2 be

Not trippin over petty things

On my word I want you 2 wear my ring

One day

Lady it seems your getting wet

Come on let's have a night we won't soon forget

Exploring the deep recesses of our minds

Work it just like that in perfect time

Fourplay

Lady U see what most won't see

A brother Dee without intensity

A man who will tend 2 your every need

Treat your children like they're my seed

As a family we will stay

Lady don't cry I'm not going anywhere

The Supreme doesn't have many blessings 2 spare

I am in Heaven when you lick your lips

Never did I have 2 give you tips

Got me coming like flowers in the month of May

Lady when U reach the point of extacy

I will bite your tongue ever so gently

Breathe on me baby while my body jerks

One more go around let's call out from work

As we lay

Lady I don't know what 2 do

Mere words can't define what I feel for U

Many nights when I watch U sleep

I pray 2 God your soul 2 keep

In every way

Lady it's the begining of our cosmic ride

You sliding on top of me

My love inside

Grasping firmly your lovely hips

Dip, dip drip

We embark on a trip

Our personal foray

Are you mine?

Do you see the signs?

Am I coming right on time?

If loving you is a crime

Let me do the time

Have another glass of wine

And when I bump you grind

Yeah baby

Just like that

Just like that

Fri, 11 Feb 2011 15:36:00 -0800 HEAR ME (a total love tome) http://dgreaves.posterous.com/hear-me-a-total-love-tome http://dgreaves.posterous.com/hear-me-a-total-love-tome

Love1

Hear me

detect the longing in my dulcid tones

and if what I espouse is pleasing to thy ear

make haste and read on my dear

for my passion is built upon the foundation

of your sight and sound

the beautiful years hath departed

now return in the wistful moments we share

picnicking in Hills blushing with remembrance

of our careless, carefree affair

oh

how we dared to question fate and force time

to bend to our will

and yet no thrill

visceral

vital

vanglorious

bowing to the vainites sparked by the bonfire

of our love in bloom can hope to cojoin our love

if you do not hear me

a voice longing to be

in lust

in love

in passion

in prodigious harmonic synchronicity

with the siren call of an earth angel

gently

sweetly

lovingly

restoring a heart to its rightful place

interwoven I am

veritcally

diagonally and horizontally

to your tapestry

our tones

through our moans

slightly altered

as love escapes the confines of cowardice

desirous of finding a way home

after travelling in torturous trevail

through blinding snow and pelting hail

down forgotten avenues uncharted by men

through sin and redemption

to find you once again

waiting

anticipating

our mating in the Hills we hath called our own

and though the nuances of love waver

like our voices upon the relentless Andean winds

true love portends

to eviscerate the demon's faithless choice

for no woman

wanting

bewitching

moist

can turn my loving eyes from your beauty

my love hear me

and I will

estar entre dos fuegos

yes throw myself between the devil and restless sea

to be but one entry

in your docket of everlasting love

this we know

what should be

never is

and what is

cannot be

if you do not hear me

our journey

has yet to begin

and we face insurmountable odds

the road we trod

is littered with love's intention

the invention of hopeful designs

the intervention of passion once sublime

and yet they have failed

tales

that cast pale

upon full moon in these unforgiving hills

and still

we shant say goodbye to our friend and confidant chance

for what chances do we have

if unconditional love hath grown fatigued

by walking a path leading to nowhere

what words

shall the spirits whisper to thee

when you hear me

my passionate delivery

of this simple and quaint prose

I suppose

the contours of heaven

are shaped by this love me make

and the doubts we forsake

my life be at the mercy of demons

if I do not retrace

each faltering step

back into your embrace

my words are comissioned by the gods

and if I deny thy love

I will stand forever in judgement of the Supreme

to be cast upon

the peak of Olympus Mons

where the red dust of Mars

shall swallow my lying flesh

ah

but if you believe in me

I shall submit a request to the Supreme

for in this our winter of discontent

a spiring shall burst forth eternally

if my love you hear me

cherry blossums will flutter

like snowflakes on a steamy lawn

and dance in the Andean breeze

like marionettes

and placed upon our doorstep

will be a melody

of

YOU AND I

I AND U

U AND ME

and never again in these foreboding hills

shall the frostiness in late winter air

penetrate the layers

of my absolute devotion

for

when I think of you

when I drink to you

when I beseech the gods for you

when I reach into my soul

and cry to you

I shall remember always the first spring

of our new dawn

and the hissing of rain upon Andean lawns

if

you

can

only

hear

me

Fri, 11 Feb 2011 08:39:00 -0800 LOOKING GLASS http://dgreaves.posterous.com/looking-glass http://dgreaves.posterous.com/looking-glass

Glass

Once I looked over

I saw an angel

on her shoulder

thought I just want 2 hold her

angel of love make me bolder

She walked in a meadow

of high grass

the skies

full of contrails and contrast

only true devotion can outlast

loves demise flying a flag

at  half mast

2 the angel my fate was cast

be absolved or remain aghast

leave all pain in the past

in a burial ground so vast

this lovely vision of soul and sass

I know that i am up 4 the task

4 i am looking

through the looking glass

once I looked beyond

I saw her meditating near

a mountain pond

in the month of ramadan

no need 4 stars 2 whish upon

let bygones be bygones

or surely the demon will abscond

never would I respond

like a debauched king with a harem

waving palm fronds

the angel told I have formed a bond

with a lady of culture and class

the minute that I chose

2 look through the looking glass

once I looked within

I knew love could begin

again

though he died 4 my original sin

my virtue I must defend

never will I pretend

2 be a mythological griffin

a man with a lions body

and wings of an eagle

true african kings

are forever regal

so few people

will walk through the needle

many will return

2 live the sequel

but i know as I prepare 2 fast

my time in hell is at an end at last

4 I saw her waving to me

when I looked through  the looking glass

Fri, 11 Feb 2011 06:12:00 -0800 EVENING NEWS (erotic freedom) http://dgreaves.posterous.com/evening-news-erotic-freedom http://dgreaves.posterous.com/evening-news-erotic-freedom

News

She remembered when she was 17

with Roberto at Walkers Cay

as he spread the blanket

for they

2 lay

her family enjoyed the sun

down on Abaco Bay

With one eye on her future

and another on an hourglass of falling sand

she lost her initial trepidation

in Robertos experienced hands

So with the song of songs

gently playing in her mind

while Shakespeares Venus and Adonis

was recited by the Philly muse

she lost her virginity

before the evening news

So small the island

would  become

a commune of artists

consumed with passion

controlled by her fickle fate

she bid her family a fond adieu

and boarded a plane 4 the United States

bright lights  and big city dreams

never have time 2 fade

if one can sieze the time

and make love 2 life

when all but your heart has forbade

So attentive men would be 2 her

she had a smile 4 every willing heart

so adept she was a leaving tantalizing morsels

thus igniting a hopeful spark

Yet so immersed was she

enjoying a slice of life

from a big apple enjoyed by few

she would leave men

confessing in church pews

before the evening news

A chinese symbol tattoed

on her right breast

lovers would inquire what does it mean

she would smile

in the  seductive way she perfected

and answer it means

that I am a queen

In actuality

the symbol meant in life

liberation one must represent

and any moment in time

lost in lust

is time well spent

Men would flock 2 her garden

day and night

never one

yes always two

and be lost in her feminine wiles

before the evening news

Her secret was the way

she would lick her lips

and the natural sway of her lovely hips

she would utter a commet meant 2 tease

and say sweetly pardon me

that was a freudian slip

Men would interpret

these sudective quips

as finally

an opportunity

sadly

so many were left

bereft

of sense  and sensibilities

So with a gardenia in her lovely hair

she would stroll ole times square

and pause 2 enjoy the sidewalk muse

and be making love

in the skyscrapers above

before the evening news

Blame not the woman

who is sexually liberated

but the fool man

who is mentally satiated

who thinks he is conducting  a symphony

yet in actuality

his erotic intensity

is being carefully orchestrated

For if a woman

knows what she desires

and is aware of her wants and needs

far be it 4 she

2 care when a mans heart bleeds

Her professor friend

read erotic poems

from straton of saris

and as he  would peer into her lovely eyes

he would imagine her naked body

in the mews

making love under a canopy

of tress

before the evening news

Essays on man

fail 2 define

a fortunate moment

and forgotten time

thinking he has bitten the fruits of love

yet left with pits

and lemon rind

And when she would cross perfectly shaped legs

wrapped in black stockings

it was a matter of time before

clothes were flung

and there she would be

admiring the well hung

providing electrical sparks

in a mans heart

with her  versatile tongue

He would wake up

dreaming of breakfast in bed

with his dream lover by his side

yet like the ebb tide

she would choose

2 be lost in his memories

before the evening news

Piano

Awakened by a chorus

from the whipporwills

in a dreamscape

I see you and I

walking through a lush meadow

in the andean hills

Bless my foolish heart

as it beats with anticipation

yet my reality reduced

to an amalgamation

of past love sensation

a secret visitation

upon the eve of our wedding vows

pausing to dab perspiration

from your lovely brow

I wake up and walk

into the kitchen cove

and set water to boil

on the antique stove

our love assailants

too numerous to defend

plucking from the cupboard

your favorite african blend

The aroma cascades

like a mountain stream

trickling into a reservoir

of my memories

macbethian tragedies

our camelot made of wood

burning ferociously

sparked by the careless embers

of my petty jealousies

How ironic that in the midst

of war we were so close

our love that once spoke so eloquently

now refuses to be verbose

I settle in my favorite chair

and peer across the room

the early morning gloaming casting

a shadow upon my gloom

from the loom

of love we weaved our tapestry

and now scene three

of our tragedy

to be or not to be

I pour a cup of freshly brewed coffee

the dark hue reminding me

of loves evil face

a drop of sweet cream

a teaspoon of carribean sugar

sweeten to my taste

yet still tears saturate

my ebony face

as your robe rests  forlornly

upon your favorite mahagony chaise

Ignoring messages

received the previous night

only bowing to exhaustion

for sleep is a demon

i valiantly fight

for when i close my eyes

I only think of you

and even now when sipping a cup

of your favorite african brew

I remember old school romance

from the tip of your fountain pen

I see you cuddled in your afghan

such blissful love vibes

your body would send

yet

like falling rain

from the gravier romance tome

the downpour of romance is falling

but you are not at home

Our fate in lockstep

with Phillip and Nicole

the characters in your book

remember when in the Andean Hills

we kissed in perfect syncopation

with a babbling brook

but alas

the earth shook

and dislodged our hearts

once so secure

i close my eyes and imagine you

walking in the door

where loyalties lie

hearts know not

as time passes by

time ebbs and flows

the passion

the throes

regret cannot quantify

oh how i wish

we could have remained

isolated from the restless horde

you my queen of romance

i your knight holding aloft

my righteous sword

uncanny how fiction

starts to resemble our reality

twisting the script

on a timeless bond of intimacy

two hearts befouled

by siren songs in the mist

faded images of moonlight escapades

and sublime romantic trysts

Can a screenplay

ever hope to convey

the depth of our sacred love

when the heavens opened

and our names written in the clouds above

the whipporwills

cease their melodic song

and fly away in haste

as your robe rests forlornly

upon your favorite mahogany chaise

I dedicate this piece to justina wheelock

my dear sister whose inspiration to my muse

cannot be measured

justina wheelock is the author

of the black romance novels

Like Falling Rain

Where Loyalties Lie

Twisting the Script

In addition my dear sister is a marvelous

screenwriter and poetess

Lady Justina

from dgreaves the poet

to you with admiration

affection and absolute respect

Fade

I sit today warmed by the memory

of your smile

and in remorse remembering my

voluntary exile from your love sweet

my mother had never heard her son

truly recite

doesnt know the depths of pain

I enter 2 write

the migraines

the shame

the blame

the stain

upon my soul i feebly attempt

2 explain

in verse

the curse

and audible curses aimed at the spirits

many know dgreaves the poet

if only through the snippets of my soul

I expose

yet no one truly knows

the man

born and shaped by volcanic sand

ready 2 erupt after years of being dormant

and so

I walked away from you in the infancy

of a promising future

2 protect you from my past

under such duress

we couldnt hope 2 last

or prosper

and the oscar

goes 2

me

the dee

I could not 4 the sake of you

allow you 2 see

many

wonder

few know

tone knew

was his self inflicted demise

due  2

my refusal of friendship

in his most troubled hour

I dont know

yet my stomach is sour

when i recall the chronology of events

ive spent

so much time within myself

I see the world through

a myopic vision

I love and yet refuse love

I give and am loathe 2 receive

I take nothing and

out of life and love

expect nothing

and yet

curiously

I feel free

free of imagined reality

free of the worlds testimony

free of dreams that curse me

with hope and promise

my mother weeps 4 me she says

blames herself i know 4 what

I have come 2 beI

I tell her no

the very second i decided 2 be a man

my destiny

or lack thereof  was in my hands

this is my plan

as I fade into oblivion

the son of volcanic sand

my ears have been much 2 accute

2 reverberations of implied threats

so I

in my fury

make them real

I need 2 feel

my blood boil

and erupt through the corpustles

in my troubled head

saturating the soil

my soul brother asked

why do i write so prolific

so darn much

he said it is as if i am running out of time

nah brah

time is up

has been 33 years

since i first learned that tears

falling from a man

born of volcanic sand

is not release

but feeds the beast

of my burden

for certain

the quill has been both blessing and curse

4 every verse

is a snapshot i submit

4 public

perception

why is the question

my life has never been mine

until now

a baby of barbados

a child of dysfunction

a teen

in the mean

streets

an adult eloquent

yet incomplete

and now

a revolutionary in voluntary exile

from love

from feeling

from emotion

from devotion

from life

as michael jackson once sang

like a comet

blazing cross the evening sky

gone 2 soon

but i am still alive

or am I

another question 2 ponder

as i fade into oblivion

comfrotable  am I

that finally

the choice was mine

and mine alone

lyrics  to gone too soon

Wed, 02 Feb 2011 15:35:00 -0800 A LADY DEVINE (4 MY LOVE) http://dgreaves.posterous.com/a-lady-devine-4-my-love http://dgreaves.posterous.com/a-lady-devine-4-my-love

Male

She hears the careless whispers

when you're sleeping

no promise you're keeping

she does not hear

and she weeps 4 your heart when it is breaking

stops 2 dry her tears

in the Venusian atmosphere

Nature became her sacristy

the vestments of her nobility

are Sacredly stored

and when wine in poured

as homage 2 the Savior

earth savors

her aftertaste on the cusp of dawn

Heaven and earth move in Sacred places

traces

of her perfume

linger in the void of limitless space

the Father of the family

the 1st among all equals

has blessed you with a prequel

starring her as your bride

Mountains rise 2 praise her

the incoming tide is resltess

waiting 4 her to smile

and her child

the sun produces a solar storm

so her entry into your cosmos

will be warmed

Bioluminescence glows

so beautifully on the darkest night

as she takes you on a journey

across the sea

4 water reveals true love in its purity

of all that's past

and what shall be

The power within the force of nature

venerate her as Mana

the supernatural power of the stars

and as Mars

turns red with jealousy

she blesses you with

her passionate divinity

AND IN YOUR SOLITARY SILENCE

YOU WILL LISTEN

FOR SNOW MELT DRIPPING ON ICICLES

SOUNDING THE CHIME

AND THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU'RE WORTHY

2 BE LOVED EVERLASTING

BY A LADY DEVINE

She is known as Orenda of the Iriquois Nation

Manitou of the Algonquin

provided by the spirits all elements

are within her sweet embrace

and when you make love 2 her

you will perform slowly

4 such transcendental moments

cannot be in haste

She is known as Mulungu Imana

in tales of ancient Africa

the beautiful barakah of the Arab world

before Christ was born

deemed she was gypsy moon of sun and rainbows

ruler of all the land

before the continets were torn

And when the earth emerged out of chaos

she aligned the constellations

in perfect harmony

so men could one day aspire

to follow the nothern stars

leading 2 the birth of the Messiah

When Heaven was but God's animation

her sweet chorus illuminated the celestial bodies

lighting the Father's home

concepts of heavenly personification

from her spiritual essence

the first seeds of life were sown

As a numinous being

she sends lightning 2 scorch the barren plain

in the coming anticipation

of the soothing rains

and when Aurora Borealis

lights the Northern reaches of space

comets slow 2 greet her

before continuing their galaxial chase

Bathed in perfect melanin

her body in absolute proportion

her absorption

of the sun's rays

light her inner being

but dare not mistreat her

4 she is the First Daughter

of the Most Omnipotent One

the All Seeing

AND IN YOUR SOLITARY SILENCE

YOU WILL LISTEN

4 SNOW MELT DRIPPING ON ICICLES

SOUNDING THE CHIME

AND THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU'RE WORTHY

2 BE LOVED EVERLASTING

BY

A

LADY

DEVINE

Lovers

Wondering in my solitude

wandering

2 and fro

finding it hard 2 speak in absolutes

yet

what I feel is apropo.

Kissing the shadows

left by your spirit force

longing 4 the lovliness

of your erotic source.

Many times

I have been blinded

by the light from your intensity

I suppose

in the throes

of my dreams

it is you I gently enclose.

Simple words cannot convey

true and everlasting affection

when disparate worlds collide

I run 2 you

4 my souls protection.

Angels and Demons

play a gothic symphony

yet

with you

I am free

are you

my destiny.

Living

loving

lounging

in a pure stream of consciousness

I cant resist

our nightly tryst

though you remain

a shadow in the mist

when will you become

a reality

that i see

baby

I need your love

making love 2 me.

Pausing 2 examine

the contours of your sex

my tongue gently exploring

when your passion is totally wet

pleasing you and receiving nutriment

4 my soul

the angels sing

kiss her rose

and her soft wetness

will enclose

upon your love.

Two

2 have and have not

2 forgive and be forgot

2 pick passion fruit and see passion quickly rot

2 cast

upon love past a dubious lot

2 be the victim of loves devilish plot

2 love you

love you not

depending upon the petals of a forget me not

2 begin

as lovers

2 end

as friends

2 intend

yet ignore what fools in love

portend

2 pretend

not 2 bend

when

love cant defend

2 misspend

loves dividends

when a lover offends

2 drop

on bloody knees

2 stop

loves intended destiny

2 be a needle stuck

on loves phonograph

2 be present yet unwilling

2 speak on loves behalf

2 be in distress

when love not addressed

expressly on loves runaway path

2 be cast

adfrift on loves loney sea

without a life raft

2 be a dangling participant

in love paragraph

2 ration love when trapped

in a mindless shaft

2 have and have neglect

2 forgive and yet forget

2 save loves survivors

2 survive the shipwreck

and

think

we did it all

2

love

Care

What up fam..this is Brotha Dee with my alter ego Dizz

and we gonna flow into a real love joint..an undilluted..undisputed love..check it out

When you have a chest cold baby

I will wipe your runny nose

if you need me just holla lady

I will be in the bathroom

washin out your pantyhose

and your delicate underwear

I dont care

When you cant get outta bed baby

I will brush your teeth

and wash your pretty face

make some breakfast

brew the coffee

and sweeten it 2 your taste

we are a perfect pair

I dont care

When your ex was knockin on the door baby

we had a talk man 2 man

aint tryin 2 replace him as your childrens father

he wont be back no more

he understands

we both have the vacant ghetto stare

he knows

I dont care

When your body is racked with the flu baby

I will lead you 2 a warm bath

you aint just a sweet sentence lady

you are the punctuation in my paragraph

all in love is fair

I dont care

Dizz break it down...

Wind up and let me go

where I stop

my baby know

lady listen 2 my flow

I just want our thing 2 grow

you my capo di tutti capi

my mami

my mama san

rescued me

from philly saigon

the city is like radon

invisible death

2 many raids on

2 many brothas crackin up

2 many sistas shackin up

2 many thirsty

2 few cups

2 many crabs

2 get a leg up

Brotha dee

flow that love free..

When your job made you a surplus

your trust

in me was profound

worked so much overtime baby

many nights i was the last man around

but a black man dont rip and tear

I dont care

When my family questioned your motives

I told them if you cant accept her

yall aint down with me

after many miles

they peeped your style

now they are sharing the road 2 our destiny

your my city

I am your mayor

I dont care

When the sate was tryin 2 convict me

it was a case of mistaken identity

my lawyer told me

you swayed the judge and jury

with your heartfelt testimony

definition of ride or die

and you didnt lie

now that is why

you  are the ceo of my chair

and I am your man

I dont care

When your pregnancy ended prematurely

and we lost our baby

your first words were baby

sorry I let you down

even the doctor was cryin pretty lady

and that is why you wear  my crown

I would die 4 you

world you betta beware

I dont care

Dizz..kick the outro

You are the ebony essence

of ancestral african eloquence

spiritually affluent

among the ghetto insurgence

wash the grit out

with a jesus detergent

gotta say you are clairvoyance

kept me outta ignorance

taught me 2 ignore petty nuisance

when we are low on finance

you would rather stay home

and slow dance

never looked at me askance

when I was a street corner conductor

you gave me a chance

now we ridin the 3rd rail

aplha female

omega male

gods blessing is upon us

love and you are synonymous

a perfect synchronicity

come on baby

 lets you and me

tie the knot as bride and groom

it is time 4 us 2 jump the broom

Yeah..Brotha Dee and dizz..my alter ego

one and the same

no fluff

no game

real love.real life..real rap

I am out..let it fade

Thu, 27 Jan 2011 17:06:00 -0800 SELL FONE http://dgreaves.posterous.com/sell-fone http://dgreaves.posterous.com/sell-fone

Sell

It all started with a lip stick stain

my baby started actin wild

and passin blame

I said somethin kinda insane

like I ain't a brotha

with a ball and chain

and then

she started shakin her head like sistas do

I let her walk out

called her later on my Cellie

but the call just wouldn't go through

What's up my boy say

I say

efff that I'll call her later today

she straight trippin

whoa..hold up

could this be the tippin

point

yo Brah

pass dat joint

normally I don't imbibe

but I'm feelin kinda creepy

deep inside

like is my baby creepin

all them nights I thought she was sleepin

now I'm wonderin what

little dirty secrets she be keepin

It all started with a

Sell Fone

inter-ruption

damn this femme gotta

alotta

gumption

my mind is goin crazaay

gettin kinda hazaay

is she gettin a little sumthin

sumthin

is another

brother

squeezin on my bran muffin

I mean

she know how Janice is

all touchy-feely

but she got a husband and 3 kids

and

an brotha like me repsect that

I don't take a fizz in another

cat's

hat

now she got me feelin like an unwelcome

mat

I can't even represent the real

facts

not since she shook her head

like a sista do

been callin and callin

but my call just won't go through

Gimme another Henny-N-pineapple

save the rocks

talked up a femme

got her number

walked down the street

2 my baby's block

hope her car would be parked outside

hold up

I touched the hood

she just came back from a ride

should I knock

or should I go

do I do

Or don't wanna know

damn

I'm just not thinkin straight

2 many Henny's and it's gettin

kinda late

Sell Fone

inter-ruption

damn

this femme gotta

alotta

gumption

my mind goin crazaay

gettin kinda hazaay

is she gettin a little sumthin

sumthin

is another

brother

squeezin n my bran muffin

I go home

talk 2 the dog

put my sweat suit on

2 take a jog

hold up

lemme check my blog

man

this feels like another log

on my fire

trust and respect goin up like a funeral pyre

my one and only desire

would be 2

rewind

the time

place her hand in mine

and just chill

let her say what she will

but

when you see that shakin of the head

like sistas do

500 Sell Fone calls

ain't gonna get through

Walked back 'round 2 her house

saw 2 people walkin out

I shout

and she looks startled and scared

unprepared

for my diatribe

OH HERE YOU IS BLAMIN ME 4 ..ISH

and this

is your cat on the side

so

like an angry man I went with the hunch

dropped dude

with just one punch

my baby looked at me kinda sinister

shook her head

lika a sista do

cried and whispered

you just knocked out my minister

he was tellin me 2 stop assuming

and see things through

and accept a Sell Fone call from

you

Sell Fone

inter-ruption

damn

I thought my femme had alotta

gumption

my mind went crazaay

2 many Henny's made me hazaay

thought she was gettin a little sumthin

sumthin

I was wrong

and now I'll never again be sueezin

on her bran muffin

Man...let this thang fade

brothas, take it from me

the worse feeling in the world

is when you get played

by yo DAMN SELF!!!

Thu, 13 Jan 2011 23:34:00 -0800 SWEET HONEY DIP (hello) http://dgreaves.posterous.com/sweet-honey-dip-hello http://dgreaves.posterous.com/sweet-honey-dip-hello

Sweet honey dip
Hello
Don't mean 2 be a bother
But can I call U during the After Show
Seems my inspiration
Is kinda low
And hearing your sultry voice
Helps my flow

Sweet honey dip
Don't ya ever change
U got 2 know
You drivin poor little Dee insane
Just remembering the times
When the rhythm of your moondance
Was in perfect sync with mine

There are no rumors 2 dispell
Only 2 people know I dig ya sweet baby
Myself and my sister Jell
And she ain't tellin
U see baby
Like a natural felon
You stole my heart
Repaired the damage
When my ex ripped it all apart
So
With all due respect
May our dance start
By me sayin

Sweet honey dip
Hello
People can hear it in my voice
When I'm feeling the flow
But they don't know
U inspire me
2 reach higher can't U see
Once my situation was dire
Like a kitten stuck high in a tree
But then you came 2 me
Tenderly
Vividly
I can see
4ever you will be
My one and only
Sweet baby
My one and only
Sweet lady
No if's and or maybe
And it all started with a

Sweet honey dip
Hello
Can U stop around
After the After Show
'Cuz when all those fierce poets
End their recites
I feel so full of fire
I can't sleep that night
Oh so right
I can't fight
Please come onver
And love me
Oh so
Oh no
Won't let
Let U go
I'm a pro
Baby don't you know
'Cuz U bring out the best in me
The rest of me
Shall always be
Totally
Eternally
Devoted 2 you
And our destiny
And 2 think baby
It all began with...

A
Sweet
Honey
Dipped
H
E
L
L
O

I'll be waiting baby..the door is unlocked..just come right in okay?

Thu, 13 Jan 2011 23:23:00 -0800 UNTITLED (none needed) http://dgreaves.posterous.com/-none-needed http://dgreaves.posterous.com/-none-needed

When love's tapestry
Is woven with threads of shame
Pin%#&@$!s of a needle
Leaves tears that forever stain
Is this really you
Or just a cruel and unusual game
Digging in the past
For any skeletons that remain

Oh, thought I heard angels cry
But it was just the thought of you
Passing by
Never stopping
With no calm 2 impart
Carrying a crown once regally worn
Now resembling
A crown of thorns

Two hearts speaking
At the very same time
A cacophony of wasted sound
Never cleansing the mind
Doubts of fairly tales
When falling asleep
Counting the last worthless evening
Ignoring the sheep

When love's majesty
Falls victim 2 a coup d etat
Is the overthrow recored in the universe
Or is it Inshallah
Pray that you'll find a reason
2 remain together still
Not remain apart
Against God's will

Oh, thought I heard
Your children crying
But they haven't said a word
I guess they remain upset
Finding solace in their solitude
Under the cellar steps

Two hearts reaching
But on different frequencies
Never learned to accept honey
Without being stung by angry bees
Like the honecomb
Once a vibrant home
Now a castle in the wastelands
Once love has flown

Written for my man Will and his estranged wife..peace and love 2 you both
