Slavery

Hoping against hope

true love can weather the storm

in a universe void

an earth without shape and form

closing our eyes

in tears yes we shall mourn

alight in the borealis

the messiah dies

head adorned

with a crown of thorns

sacred love lost in labour

lifeless and stillborn

survivors scorned

on a morn

in the midst of october

many left 2 perish in fields

of crimson and clover

if unborn

love remains

we cannot hope 2 crossover

a river of hatred and pain

to shout

here we stand and shall remain

the demon looks on

in complete satisfaction

as the motherland suffers

pre labour contractions

her beautiful face ashen

as she strains against time and space

helplessly watching as her newborns depart

upon an ark

an evil covenant

forever lost without a trace

her children 2 face

the horrors of slavery

in a land that was once

a european auxiliary

facing whips and chains

with sub saharan bravery

abducted initially

by north africans

speaking the language of kashmiri

and still

they will be

the children of the risen

despite being pelted with stones of derision

out of bondage

but still languishing in the bowels of prisons

yet

with the red black and green

america will be given

a new history of african american revisions

for

2 live and die

is the creators decision

and live we shall

singing freedom songs

together we stand

upon this land

we belong

from pestilence

2 president

in the blink of a historical eye

metaphors

we abhor

only justice we justify

once left 2 die

in the wastelands of north america savannahs

but the bears

bowed their heads in prayer

the birds sang hosannas

at one with native spirit

given life sustaining water

a bond forevermore

african sons

cherokee daughters

once led like innocent lambs

2 an inevitable slaughter

but the pirze

we always realized

and if the sun continues 2 rise

we will fight the racist tide

a collage of hues

from light caramel 2 native dark

a diversity of views

from those who once embarked

upon the middle passage

in the hulls of slavery arks

acts of contrition

heeding

the apostles creed

we believe in one god

4 the red black and green we bleed

from emancipation

through segregation

through the lynchings

and our children slain

amreica here we stand

upon this land we shall remain

for

2 live is christ

2 die is truely gain

our blood contains

the absolute proof

the blacker the berry

the sweeter the juice
