ON THE OTHER SIDE (of the Mountain)

    This is for family
    Who still don't know
    How I get down
    And for friends who
    Held my hand
    When family wasn't around

    Let it flow...

    I'm on the
    Other side of the mountain
    Trying 2 ascend
    When family
    Didn't care for me
    I relied on faithful friends
    Onve I reach the summit
I've got no time 2 pretend
    It's true
    Most climbers lose their lives
    Trying 2 descend

I arrived at the Camp Base
    Thought I'd won the race
    Looked around and
    2 my suprise
    I realized
4 some time i'd been running in place

    It's so hard 2 breathe
    In the Valley Low
So I gazed upon the Mountain
Its majestic peak shrouded in clouds
And capped with fresh fallen snow

    There wasn't any wagering
    NO one thought I had
    The courage to try
    So many comrades had perished
    In sudden storms
So many prophets and martyrs had died

    I checked my oxygen tank
    Inspected my climbing gear
    Next 2 my raging heart
    I place my childhood Bible
    U see,
    God is ample protection
And His directions are ALWAYS reliable

Though Faith hath moved many mountains
    This obstacle I MUST climb
    Have 2 prove myself worthy
Of my Blessings from the Devine

    My daughter started crying
    Said "Daddy, please don't go"
I sat her on my knee
    And whispered tenderly
Baby, I want U 2 be proud of the man U know

    About halfway up the Mountain
    I lost my footing
    Almost fell into a cravasse
In the bowels of the Earth
    Satan laughed at me
And said "Your oxygen won't last"

    I suffered from altitude sickness
    A cough convulsing my body
    Down 2 my soul
But let me tell you friend
    The Jesus Within
Made that ice pick grab a hold

    I finally reached the summit
    On a clear September morn
    From my vantage point
I could see the Island in the Sun
    Where I was born
I traced a line over the ocean
    And stopped in Philly town
    Planted a flag representing UNITY
And praised God on that Sacred Ground

Knew I had no time 2 waste
    Must rest up
    Then make haste
My accomplishment will not be complete
Until I make it back 2 Camp Base

Gotta tell my brothers and sisters
The Voice upon the winds I heard
4 there is no doubting the reality
    Of God the Father's Word

And God said "THIS IS MY SON WITH WHOM I AM PLEASED"

    I'm on the
    Ohter side of the mountain
    Trying 2 ascend
    When family
    Didn't care for me
    I relied on faithful friends
    Once I reach the summit
I've got no time 2 pretend
    It' s true
    Most climbers lose their lives
    Trying 2 descend
