When I was lost in an urban hurricane
It was her sweet voice that led me home
A lighthouse in the darkness
Please,
Read my tome
When my family left me be
2 follow a wayward road
2 the Promised Land
She halted her righteous journey
And took my hand
And when I was pelted
With stones of fury
Thrown by hands the same color as mine
She stood tall and upheld my virtue
She is colorblind
My Soul Sister
My Real Sister
I can't resist her
Don't you know
Angel of Peace
Rain down on me
Feel my flow
When I picked up my sword and shield
2 fight the War for Equality
In a Racist's Land
By candlelight in the Gloaming
She reviewed my battle plan
When from dark clouds
Lightning struck
Its echo reverberating in the Round
She provided me comfort and shelter
In the Artist's Lounge
And when I read the Scripture
Proverbs 17, verse 17
"And a Brother is born for adversity"
I cross Del Bridge to my Sister's waters
And I'm never thirsty
My Soul Sister
My Real Sister
I can't resist her
Don't you know
Angel of Peace
Rain down on me
Feel my flow
When Brother and Sister walk together
Defined by a love that's been agreed
Dear Father,
Allow these words 2 pour from my heart
Let it bleed
When I was loathe 2 listen
Quick 2 speak and anger burn
My Sister's soothing words
Diverted my fury
At every turn
And when I seek a place 2 call my own
Walking a path of Righteousness
My Father desires
On the coldest nights she walked before me
Preparing a Sacred Fire
My Soul Sister
My Real Sister
I can't resist her
Don't you know
Angel of Peace
Rain down on me
Feel my flow
Thank you Jill, your Brother D'ee loves you..God Bless
