    MAMBO BAJAN (4 Mom's request)

Hey Fam. My mom snuck a look at my computer and really dug Happy Blues. ...and then she said..write something about Barbados! Ain't exactly in that mood vibe BUT I gotta see her on Thankgiving! Lol. So Mom..here it is.

    Glossary of Terms

Flying fish (national fish of Barbados. It's good eatin!)
Six Men's (located in St. Lucy Parrish where I was born)
Cou-cou (cornmeal, okra mixed with peppers, salt and Bajan hot sauce)
Plantain (close relative of the sweet banana)
Pudding n souse (pudding made of pig intestines stuffed with sweet potatoes. Souse is boiled pig head and trotters-don't knock it till ya tried it! Lmbo)
    Gutterperk (a slingshot)

Just hum Mambo Inn and U got the vibe..
    Here we go

    I love a girl
She live down Six Men's way
On me bicycle we gonna ride
    Up 2 Maycock's Bay

    Have a little fun
    And find a picnic spot
    Catch some flyin fish
And roast em on de rocks

    Man when I'm with her
    It's never a bore
    Her parents and she
    Come from El Salvador
    Everytime we kiss
    She says Te Amo
    I don't speak na Spanish
What she mean I don't know

But the sparkle in she eyes
    I can always translate
    Gotta peddle this bike harder
    Cuz brudda I can't wait

    1-2-3 we step
Barbados, me Island in the Sun
    Feeling the Calypso beat
    Dancing the Mambo Bajan

    Later 2nite I tek her
    2 me mom-ee house
    Told me motha don't fret
    She eat like a mouse
    Me momm-ee said Oh Lord
    I don't know what 2 do
    I say Momm-ee don't fret
Mek a little fish and Cou-cou

    If you have the time
Mek me favorite Black-eyed peas and rice
    And a little carrot juice
2 wash it down real nice
    Oh..and momm-ee on more ting
    Don't mean 2 be a pain
Could you mek me a batch
    Of your fried plantains

    My mother met me girl
Said look how she eyes smile
    Boy don't mek no sport
Keep her around 4 a while
    They laughed and hugged
    Nibbling on sweet coconut bread
Den me mom kissed her cheek
    An went off 2 bed

    1--2-3 step
Barbados, me Island in the Sun
    Feeling the Calypso beat
    Dancing the Mambo Bajan

I laughed with my Latin girl
'Member I said she eat like a mouse?
That was before she got a hold
    Of some puddin n souse
    Outside in the yard
I hit tin cans wit me guttterperk
    While sweet Rosalita giggled
    Tryin 2 stifle a burp

    I ride her back home
So she can dress 4 the night
Mightly Sparrow and Byron Lee in concert
    Oh mi God
    What a flight
    Down pon de Bay
    Erskine de fisherman
    Like 2 shot he flares
I love the way the light
    Sparkles in she hair
Then we find a quiet spot
After all the laughter and fun
Me heart beatin so so fast
As she cotton dress come undone
    And there we make love
    In the Carribean sand
Of all de men in St. Lucy
    I the luckiest man

    But me momma always say
    Luck run out dependin
    On the road you trod
    That Rosalita is a blessing
Straight from de Hand of God

    Everybody
    1-2-3 step
Barbados, me Island in the sun
    Feeling the Calypso beat
    Dancin the Mambo Bajan

    Feeling the Calypso beat
    Dancing the Mambo Bajan

    Love U Mom
    Peace and Blessings AL fam
