    IF WHAT? then what...

    If

    if in the morning

we dont say i love you

    we should be upset

    affirmation of our love

    we should never forget

    i know from experience

    to be in love

    is to be blessed

    equal parts

    2 hearts

    sharing devotion

    pure emotion

    and tenderness

if our love is not the answer

    but sounds like a question

    no matter what impression

    we give our friends

we will  be in a  state of regression

    play fighting

    good tidings

    will become agression

and there will be pregnant pauses

    in the progression

    of our silent love vibe

    baby we cant hide

    what we dont feel inside

    if we dont pray together

    how can we stay together

our fall will be so cold

in bed we will both wear sweaters

if we dont own our vows

    why write love letters

    if our love

    stops being mental

we will take the short ride

    on the physical

    and the moment

    we both dread

    2 people once in love

    sleeping on opposite sides

    of  our bed

    the passion all but dead

    both feeling

    they were mislead

    by  false claims of love

    check it out

    if our altered state

    makes

    our fatih falter

and we sacrifice our love bond

    on an altar

    of selfishness

    for loves funeral

    how should  we dress

    tell me who

    do we need 2 impress

when care  fades from a caress

once making more when we had less

    now we have the material

    but serial

    stress

if we think the grass is greener

on the other side of fence

    are we ignoring our friends

    when they dont make sense

    your girlfriends always sayin

    aint no good men

my boys always tryin to defend

    the player

    they try 2 be

    majoring in sex

    minoring in sincerity

if we see a marriage counselor

    and ignore the scripture

    how can we see

    clearly the full picture

no one said  being in love

    was all cookies and cream

many times it is like walking

    on a balance beam

    but if encouragement

    cant nourish

    what used to flourish

    then we will become ignorant

    petty and boorish

if we say it is all over

yet  refuse to walk the extra mile

where once we fell for each other

we will fall for a pretty face

    and a smile

    all pretty packages dont contain

    what  we need to sustain

    too many one night holdovers

    roll over

    into a life of pain

    everybody who is apart

    wishes they had a heart

    to share

    to care

    when they come home

    i have been there baby

    and it aint no joke

    waiting by the phone

a list of numbers to call

    but somehow your fingers stall

    because even after they supply

    a physical need

they cant stop a heart that bleeds

    internally
