Slow week
So sweet
Ain't nobody for miles around
I'm fittin ta-gettin
What I been fa-gettin
When my baby removes
Her bedroom gown
Gravel
Cracklin under tires
On these back country
Roads I roam
Ain't no need 4 phones
When me and my baby moan
The lyrics 2 a Happy Blues
Down here
In sweet, Ole Baton Rouge
Early
Sunday mornin
A line is formin
At Trinity Baptist Church
I see a Kingbird
On his perch
Swayin 2 the hymns
Guess he feelin
The Spirit of God within
After service
A stop by the general store
2 pick up The Advocate
And a Times-Picayune
All the fellas gather
4 some down home palaver
But my baby wants me home soon
Sunday
Afternoon strollin
Down on North Blvd
The Old State Capitol
Is where we first met
We climbed the stairs
And kissed under the stained glass dome
A kiss I'll never forget
Easin
My stress load
Meetin Jill and her hubby
Down on Jones Creek Road
At Jasmines on the Bayou
Like its namesake
Time meanders on by You
When U share Shrimp Creole
A Crawfish Etoufee
Or two
Dancin
2 the lyrical Sonnet
Of two Bluebonnets
High up in
A Sweetbay Magnolia tree
Just my baby and me
Kissin tenderly
Seems like ain't nobody
For miles around
Forgive me
But I ain't never
Knew What It Means
To Miss New Orleans
'Cuz me and my baby
Make love 2 a Happy Blues
Right here
In good Ole Baton Rouge
Dedicated 2 Sister Brenda and her Husband
Much love and respect
