Shall I not lament
her Shadow's Passing?
as twilight vapors
shape 2 construct
halo around a misty moon
I shall not seek refuge within
vanity's protective cloak
so
laugh as you wont
4 in my silence
do I treasure her momory
and tell me fickle friends
what purpose is this
wretched curse life
if hopeless hearts cannot
extract from the firmament
a most precious gem
A fool am I?!
so be it
4 the memory of her love
I hold dear
her gentle footsteps above me
the sincerity of her greeting
upon the cusp of dawn
her smile I admit
so captured my heart
my fervor emerged from its cocoon
and struck me silent
with a blissful ease
so
laugh as you wont
I shall stand before you
without shame
and confess that my pride
is forsworn 2 her capricious nature
observe closely the man you mock
have your fill of merryment
I shall remain silent while
my dissertation is transcribed
by the muse
I pity you shamefaced men
descend from your pillars of arrogance
4 this life you cannot possess
and until thy Serpent's Breath
deem me mortal
I shall BELIEVE
in love and my soul's urgent request
2 love again and again
as I once loved her
You ask why I chose 2 remember
I ask you
how can I forget?
that once long ago
a man had a dream
