    BLACK TEARS

I received a text that left me heated,

    blood drained from my brain,

but when the flood waters receded,

I realized the very fact that I survived,

makes every word but God's Word a damn lie

Can I flip that old phrase?

    some take quietness for weakness,

truth be told, I'm a Black Thoroghbred

    that's run the Ghetto Preakness,

fake drama I don't need this,

    drop a verse with uniqueness,

until I cease to exist and y'all subsist on my Gris-Gris

For real, a woman can't make a man

but she can make an ordinary man

feel like he's an extrodinary man,

    but please understand,

the man must first have the ability to withstand

    and counter-MAN bullshyt gossip secondhand,

wave his hand with lyrical command,

and leave the crowd gaspin' DAMN!

    That boy is badd!

This next verse is for femme's who shall remain nameless,

I know y'all trippin' but nevertheless,

    Godspeed, God bless,

    keep talkin' like you're blameless,

won't repress so I can Federal Express this,

actin' like you should be on the insane list,

pull up a chair while I explain this

    No woman but my Momma

made me the man I am,

and the I AM crafted me with the skill of His hands,

    I ain't amped b'cuz I passed every damn exam,

that's why my worth is measured by infinity

    not in grams,

I could've been street corner pharmacist

in the Villiage of the Damned,

but I was scrutinized when I strategized

    under a florscent lamp

by the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost

    you need to just hush

I've been there, done that, been back again,

but I ain't beginning with my ending,

    not tryin' to be condescending,

b'cuz Lord knows you can't be pretending,

    when you're ascending,

    representing

the Black Diaspora in the center of concentric rings

    bethca didn't know,

ONLY IN MY 40'S BUT LORD

IT FEELS LIKE I'VE LIVED A HUNDRED YEARS,

I'M NOT A MYSTERY, I JUST STAY SEPARATE FROM MY PEERS,

SO THEY CAN'T SEE THE BLOOD FLOWIN'

    IN MY BLACK TEARS

Brotha hear me, Sista hear me,

I've neva been a cat who rode his own ad-DYCK-tion,

    the admiration, the accolades

    can't faze

    a man on a mission,

    by my own admission,

I'm not an academician, a mucisian or a munition,

    but with your permission,

my mind cognition can be the definition

    of Black Pride's ignition,

    yooooo, watch me blast off,

haters and skaters I quickly cast off

Ain't tryin' to be the Man,

but for real, the man sittin' next to the man,

can't touch this quill in my hand,

I use wordz as an escape from the escapades

of seein' Escalades drivin' straight to Hades,

    ain't no ifs, and's or maybe's,

every woman is a woman but every woman ain't a lady,

there's something to be said about discretion,

I don't show every dame my positive erection,

if I did I'd have alot more fans Facin' my Book,

hopin' and gropin' for a look, nah mean?

I just stay in My Space,

    knowin' that haste makes waste

of the best and the brightest,

no need for anyone to call me Your Heiness,

only One True King and that's the Highest,

but for real, I ain't gonna be a Heinie,

bytch-talkin', walkin' around drinkin' cheap wine all whine-ey,

smilin', eatin' watermelon and Chicken with George,

while you pat my bald head that's always shine-ey,

you must be dreamin' if you think I'm a poo-butt

This ain't no Revolution of My Mind,

    b'cuz revolutions go in cirlces,

DID I DO THAT??? Hell nah, I ain't Erkel,

I ain't a comedian but I can make you laugh,

or have your relatives fly your flag at half-mast,

I don't want to be an iconoclast,

just wanna graduate head of the class,

and last long enough to drop the perfect verse

    or paragraph,

with all due respect, TA' HELL WITH THE HATERS,

the Momma I wanna be, soon to be, truly can't refute the absolute truth-actin'

like Niggaz, go suck on some Watermelon Now-N-Laters,

I have a Commitment to Excellence like the Old Oakland Raiders,

    R.I.P. Al Davis

I can see clearly now the rain is gone,

me, June and Joski choppin' it up,

raisin' hell in the Saint El,

    givin' a Muthaa-Whaattt,

and praising the Father that we survived,

it was kinda Bumpy like Johnson,

but ain't no Hoodlums on this astral ride,

suicide bomb me?!? man, you gotta be crazy,

you're too broke to own a Palace, too scared to be Palestinian,

    and I ain't the Israeli,

    wait up, hand to God,

I am as deadly as the Mossad

    This ain't my summation

    but a continuation,

eventually I WILL be fitted for my Poetic with Aesthetic's Crown,

    during my coronation,

I'll be sippin' on a Corona with lime,

evelate from Just D'ee to D'ee the  Sublime,

I mean to tell y'all, now is the time,

    RISE UP OR SIT DOWN,

    GET UP OR GET DOWN,

    LOOK UP OR LOOK AROUND,

b'cuz I know all about you and more,

    Sincerely,

The Spook Who Sat by the Door,

THAT AIN'T NO HOOK, READ THE BOOK!!

    by Sir Sam Greenlee,

    I'm fading this out,

once again you've been shocked and amazed

by the One and Only Brotha D'ee

    for real,

ONLY IN MY 40'S BUT LORD

IT FEELS LIKE I'VE LIVED A HUNDRED YEARS,

I'M NOT A  MYSTERY, I JUST STAY SEPARATE FROM MY PEERS

SO THEY CAN'T SEE THE BLOOD FLOWIN'

    IN MY BLACK TEARS
