    A WINDSONG'S NOCTURNAL DANCE

    Dance

I close my eyes to touch you

    I search through my closets

    only my clothes remain

I open my hands to feel you

demons play tricks with my fingers

    I only feel pain

    this much I trust

    screaming would only disgust

    the gods of love

    and in heaven above

my dreams blow into a heap of despair

    for in the end

    the only friend

I have is the late autumn wind

speaking to me of lovely afternoons

    by the sand dunes

    near the pier

whispering words of a haunting melody

    so very clear

    yet only in my dreams

can I see your eyes burning so strong

    one ray of sunlight

    lost in the windsongs

    lost in our forgotten romance

    lost in nocturnal dances

in places only you and I once occupied

    an eternal trance

what I would do for you

    if this world were mine

    baby love

    we would fly

    visit celestial worlds like

    Venus, Saturn and Alpha Centauri

    or maybe explore

the deepest depths of the Pacific Ocean

and catch fish that later on the sand dunes we would fry

    must I justify

    how much I need you

    how much I love you

    how much I want you

how much you mean to me

    distant places

would send a shiver through my soul

    questionable faces

would elevate my anger until my blood pressure

    was spiraling out of control

but when I was with you

I would observe the smiles we received

from people both black and white

in a world of obvious distortion

you made my troubled world focused and finite

    a special lady

    a title used by many

    for you much too trite

from the moment you blessed my life dear lady

my heart took off on a solar flight

I ignored friends who told me love like ours was insane

telling me love was a dirty game

    but where were they

when you came into my life and eased my pain

    Jesus Christ

the Bible says to save the world He gave His life

    sacrifice

    a word

    I have heard

    lovers use once or twice

yet how could I not believe in God

when I once held an angel of perfect form

when cold winds transported me to the Artic region

the sheer magnitude of your beautiful brown eyes kept me warm

    baby, you are the sun

    and I, an insignificant moon

    held within your gravity

and when I recall you I see

    nocturnal insights

and various shades of day and night

God did indeed mention your name

when in Genesis, 1st chapter He intoned

    AND LET THERE BE LIGHT
